What is Irsogladine maleate ? Irsogladine maleate is a selective PDE4 inhibitor that facilitates gap junction intercellular communication through muscarinic acetylcholine receptor binding. It is a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis in wild-type and plasminogen activator-deficient mice. |
Inhibition of PDE4 prevents the hydrolysis of cAMP, an important secondary messenger molecule that is
heavily involved in signal transduction.
Among many gastric mucosal protective agents, it has a unique mechanism of action, that is, it plays a cellular
efense role by increasing the content of cyclic adenosine phosphate in gastric mucosa, strengthening the
association of gastric mucosal epithelial cells and stabilizing gastric mucosal cells. At the same time, it can
increase the blood flow of the normal gastric mucosa and the mucosa of the ulcer margin to promote the
regeneration of the mucosa.
