What is Sucralfate? Sucralfate is a white amorphous powder, odorless, almost tasteless, and moisturizing. It is soluble in dilute is almost insoluble in water, ethanol. Indications Sucralfate is used for gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease and hyperacidity. Mechanism Sucralfate dissociates into sucrose octhionate polymer in an acidic environment, which can attach to the bottom surface of the ulcer and bind to gastric mucosal proteins to form a barrier to protect the gastric mucosa. It binds to the enzyme egg-gate. The protein catabolism activity was inhibited for a long time. It has the effect of neutralizing gastric acid.
