What is Albendazole?

Albendazole, developed by Schick Beecham (the predecessor of GlaxoSmithKline), is a broad-spectrum thiabendazole anthelmintic for both human and veterinary use, which can inhibit the growth and reproduction of worms by inhibiting the proteins in the intestinal tract or absorbing cells of the worms, thus causing the worms to be unable to ingest the sugars they depend on for their survival, causing the worms to deplete the endogenous glycogen and inhibiting the fenarthritic acid reductase system to prevent the production of adenosine triphosphate, resulting in the worms being unable to survive and reproduce, and eventually dying of energy depletion in Chemicalbook. Function of Albendazole

1. Albendazole is a highly effective broad-spectrum anthelmintic.
