What is canrenoate?
Canrenoate is a competitive aldosterone antagonist. It has been shown to counteract the effects of aldosterone-induced blood pressure increases in animals with high sodium intake.
Canrenoate is clinically used for its anti-fibrotic effects and has been shown to reduce cardiovascular fibrosis in animal models. |
FUNCTION AND APPLICATION
At higher concentrations, however, canrenoate has been found to produce genotoxic effects to the liver and an increase in tumor incidence studies with rodents.
