What is Oxybenzone ?

Benzophenone-3 is a high-efficienct UV radiation absorbing agent, capable of effectively absorbing UV radiation of
290-400 nm wavelength ,but it almost does not absorb visible light, particularly applicable to light-colored transparent
products. It is well stable to light and heat, not decomposable below 200°C, applicable to paint and various plastic
products,particular effective to polyvinyl chloirde, polystyrene, polyurethane, acrylic resin, light-colored transparent
furniture, as well as to cosmetics , with the dosage of 0.1-0.5%.

 

Function of Oxybenzone 

 

Oxybenzone is an organic compound used in sunscreens. Oxybenzone is used as an ingredient in sunscreen and other
cosmetics because it absorbs UVB and short-wave UVA (ultraviolet) rays. Oxybenzone was one of the first compounds
incorporated into sunscreen formulations to offer enhanced UVA protection because its absorption spectrum extends to
less than 350 nm.

petroleum products, especially suitable for light transparent products can be used in paint and various plastic products,
