What is L-Citrulline ? White crystal or crystal powder, soluble in water, difficult to dissolv , ethanol. It can be precipitated by phosphotungstic acid from its concentrated solution and react with concentrated alkali solution to form ornithine, carbon dioxide . Its copper salt is blue prismatic crystal, melting point 257-258ºC. The melting point of its hydroxide is 185ºC(decomposition), and [α]D22 is +17.9° in water. Found in melons such as watermelons.
