What is Ozenoxacin ? Ozenoxacin is an experimental quinolone antibiotic being developed for the treatment of impetigo and other dermatological bacterial infections. Ozenoxacin is active against some bacteria that have developed resistance to currently used quinolone and fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

Ozefloxacin is a quinolone antibacterial drug developed by Spain FerrerInternacional Co., LTD.,
purchased by Medimetriks Pharmaceutical Company of the United States and obtained the ex
clusive commercialization rights in the United States, and was approved by the Ministry of Health,
Labor and Welfare of Japan in September 2015, becoming the world's first approved new mol
ecular entity. It was approved by the US FDA on December 11, 2017.

Ozefloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA replicase, DNA cyclase A and topoisomerase IV.
Ozefloxacin is the third non-fluoroquinolone antibiotic approved in the world after Nenofloxacin
and Garefloxacin. In clinical trials, Ozefloxacin was used to treat skin and soft tissue infections
, and the efficacy was superior to mupirocin, with no significant adverse effects.

The inhibitory effect of ozefloxacin on MRSA, methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA
) and -resistant Staphylococcus aureus was significantly stronger than that of nafloxacin
 , chlorlincycin, erythromycin and gentamicin. Ozefloxacin has strong
bactericidal activity and can be used as a new quinolone with a short course of treatment and a
good clinical application prospect.
