Sitagliptinphosphate (Januvia, code MK-0431), produced by Merck, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2006 for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Sitapliptin phosphate is ideal for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. As a new antidiabetic drug, sitapliptin phosphate is glucose-dependent and has moderate hypoglycemic effect. It can increase secretion without hypoglycemia, effectively reduce hunger and other advantages, and has no side effects such as nausea, vomiting, edema and increased body weight.

Fuction and Application of Sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate
Sitapliptin phosphate as a monotherapy in patients with type 2 diabetes has been shown in clinical studies to significantly
reduce glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. When combined with metformin or TZDs, it has a significant adjunct therapeutic
effect on the three major defects of type 2 diabetes: resistance, beta cell dysfunction (reduced release), and
alpha cell dysfunction (failure to inhibit liver glucose production). However, the drug should not be used in the treatment of
type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
