What is Ampicillin sodium? Ampicillin sodium is a broad-spectrum penicillin, with a wider antimicrobial spectrum than penicillin, and also has antibacterial activity against some gram-negative bacilli (such as Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirae).
