What is 4-Aminobenzoic Acid ?   Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) is a chemical found in the folic acid vitamin and also in several foods including grains, eggs, milk, and meat. Para-aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) is also a member of the B vitamins, and is part of the folic acid molecule. PABA itself is readily available in food and is made by our intestinal bacteria. It is known specifically for its nourishment to hair and its usefulness as a sunscreen.preparations since it can help protect the skin against ultra-violet radiation.

Function of P-Aminobenzoic acid

1. In industry, PABA is prepared mainly by two routes:
1) Reduction of 4-nitrobenzoic acid
2) Hoffman degradation of the monoamide derived from terephthalic acid.
2. Food sources of PABA include liver, brewer's yeast (and unfiltered beer), kidney, molasses, mushrooms,
and whole grains.

Application of P-Aminobenzoic acid
