What is Benidipine ?
essentialhypertension (EH) is a common cardiovascular disease. Calcium antagonists, especially dihydropyridine, have been widely used in antihypertensive treatment in the past 20 years. Their antihypertensive effect is accurate, well tolerated, slow, long peak time, and do not cause reflex excitation of the neurohumoral system. It has been widely used in hypertension and related diseases. The safety of long-acting calcium antagonists has been established in evidence-based medicine.

Benidipine is a class b calcium antagonist, which binds to calcium channel of cell membrane, inhibits
calcium flow, and dilates coronary artery and peripheral vascular. The combination showed continuous
pharmacological effect, independent of blood concentration, with slow and sustained antihypertensive
effect. Oral administration of this product can improve the ischemic changes caused by exercise load
in patients with fatigue angina pectoris.
Traditional calcium antagonists mainly act on L-type calcium channels, while the novel calcium antagonist
Benidipine not only acts on L-type calcium channels, but also has a strong effect on T-type and N-type
calcium channels at common clinical doses. Benidipine is a novel long-acting calcium antagonist. Studies
have shown that Benidipine is highly selective to vascular smooth muscle cells and has a slow and sustained
antihypertensive effect. It can protect ischemic myocardium, inhibit myocardial necrosis and apoptosis after
ischemia reperfusion, inhibit hypoxia injury of myocardial cells, and protect vascular endothelium.
