What is Tetramethylpyrazine ?   tetramethylpyrazine has been isolated from Ephedra sinica. It is useful in the treatment of several disorders such as asthma, heart failure, rhinitis and urinary incontinence. It is a flavor ingredient of tobacco. It forms cocrystal with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid which exhibits supramolecular synthon polymorphism.

Function and Application of tetramethylpyrazine

for cigarettes.Ligustrazine is a bioactive ingredient extracted from Ligustrum Chuanxiong, a widely used
traditional Chinese medicine. It can inhibit platelet aggregation, enhance vascular dilation, increase cerebral
blood flow, and has neuroprotective effect. Ligustrazine injection has been widely used in the treatment of
ischemic stroke, coronary heart disease, diabetic nephropathy and knee osteoarthritis in China. Ligustrazine
has also been evaluated clinically for the treatment of pressure ulcers, as a salvage agent for patients with
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and as a treatment for bronchial asthma and vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency.
